The actual situation

You already have the information. You just don't want to type it again.

  • A screenshot of an address.
  • A confirmation number in a chat.
  • A paragraph from a doc.

To get a reminder for any of it, every other app makes you open it, retype the content, and set a time.

That's why you don't bother. And that's why you forget.

How it goes

Three steps, and you type none of it.

  1. Paste or drop it

Ctrl+V a screenshot, or drag a file in. Text, images, anything.

  2. It reads it

By default, text is extracted offline on your own machine.

  3. It reminds you

Pick a time. Get a native Windows notification. Click to jump back.

The honest question

“Windows already came with a reminder app.”

It did, and it's fine. But the reminder was never the hard part — getting the content in there was. That's the only thing LazyMemo changes.

What leaves your machine

On your machine by default.

No account

No sign-up and no LazyMemo login. Pro is unlocked through the Microsoft Store.

No cloud sync

Nothing is uploaded by default, and the core app works with the network off.

No telemetry

No analytics, no crash pings, no usage tracking.

OCR runs locally

By default your screenshots are read on your own CPU and never uploaded.

Optional, off by default

Pro extras — cloud OCR, AI tidy-up, email reminders — send data only to the service you pick, with your own key or server, once you turn them on. We never see it.

Your data, your file

The database is a plain SQLite file in your own user folder.

The long version is on the privacy page — it lists exactly what each optional feature sends.
